UC in D.C., Spring 2026
Kelcie Lee
Kelcie Lee is studying History and Sociology with a minor in Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. Born and raised in San Francisco, she has lived in the Bay Area her entire life and is eager to join the UC Washington Program (UCDC), a place deeply rooted in U.S. history.
At Berkeley, Kelcie is actively involved in extracurricular activities, including her work with The Daily Californian. Through years of experience in journalism—both at the Daily Cal and as an intern for other news publications—she has developed a passion for exploring issues that matter to her as both a U.S. citizen and a critical thinker in today’s world.
Kelcie believes journalism plays a vital role in bridging communities and highlighting the importance of education in history, current events, and public policy, especially in the current political climate. Her academic work, including thesis research on U.S. immigration, has deepened her understanding of the importance of productive dialogue in addressing challenges and uncovering the historical context behind undocumented immigration.
